What is a Motherhood Session & why do you need one?

Look…we all know it..mothers are incredible! Moms are the foundation upon which a family rests. Not only does a mother literally grow and birth a child, but she will also raise and care for that child with every fiber of her being. Not matter what your role or profession is in life, when you become a mother, it is the most important role of your life. I know how much being a mom and having children means to you and I am here to tell you that your story and your love for your family is worth being documented. A motherhood session will preserve this these memories for you.

What is a Motherhood photography session?

Plain and simple, this photo session is all about celebrating you as a mother and documenting the authentic connection and love you have for your children. Yes, you will get a few posed eyes on camera during the session, but what I am really capturing is your bond and connections with your children. Doing so will create photos that are filled with emotions and will forever preserve this special moment in time with your little ones. I want you to have images that will only pull only our heart stings more as time goes by.

Can other Family Members participate?

Many times, women will use this type of session to highlight other mother figure sent her child’s life. For example a grandma or even an aunt who serves as a maternal figure either in my client’s life or her children’s. These sessions are all about female empowerment and the maternal bond that exists between child and mother, so feel free to bring along another maternal figure who plays a vital role in the upbringing of your child. After all, it takes a village, right?

Where can I schedule a Portrait Session with my children?

This type of session can be scheduled in the comfort of your home or any outdoor location. There are so many scenic and beautiful locations in the North Eastern Florida area that would work well for this type of photo session. Basically, you want a location that aligns with your vision for your images. Washington Oaks Garden would be a great location or any beach like Guana State Park Beach or PONTE VEDRA Beach. If there is an activity you like to do with your children, that would be a great choice too. For example, maybe walking around St George Street in St Augustine is your thing. The point is, the session is really about your love for one another, but scheduling it in a location that is meaningful can only add to the significance of your images.

This session featured in my blog is one of the last sessions I captured on Long Island, NY before my move to Nocatee, Florida. It was captured on a miild Fall evening at a gorgeous location. This mom wanted a session with Fall vibes and a golden glow of sunset. She schedules a motherhood session annually with me on her daughter’s birthday. It is her way of celebrating this special milestone in her daughter’s life and a great way to document the growth of her daughter and their relationship. She brought along her sister, who plays a huge role in raising her niece and the bond between them is so evident. This little girls’ smile can light up a room. She is the cutest.
