A Newborn Session on the Beach
One of the best things about being a Jacksonville, Florida lifestyle newborn photographer is the ability to schedule a newborn session at an outdoor location. Unlike studio newborn sessions, a lifestyle photo session with your baby can be scheduled anywhere you would like. Most of the time, clients will schedule the session in the comfort of their home, but you can also schedule the session at the beach, a park, a preserve or anywhere you want. My sessions are focused on you interacting with your baby, so I can capture those special moments anywhere.
Newborn Photos Should be Organic and Natural, Not Rigid and Posed
As a mom to an 11 and 9 year old, I know how fast time goes by. As a North East Florida newborn photographer with over a decade of experience, I also know how important photos are. My approach to photos with your little one is to capture emotions. I want to preserve your love for one another, your little one and capture this special moment in life. In the past, I used props in my newborn photo sessions, but I no longer use props. Doing so takes away from the time I can dedicate to family photos. I do not feel like propped photos elicit emotions. My goal is to capture images that when you look at them years from now will pull on your heart strings and remind you of this very special time with your bundle of joy.
Where Can You Schedule a Newborn Session?
One of the best locations to schedule a newborn session is you home, but any location will work equally as well because my focus is always going to be the sameā¦it is going to be on the family connection. This particular family wanted a newborn session at the beach at sunset. I was elated at this idea. First, St Augustine beach family sessions are my specialty. Secondly, I knew how spectacular a newborn sessio on the beach would be.
How Can you Capture Newborn Portraits on the Beach?
Although the focus of newborn sessions is on the family, I always capture solo portraits of the baby. In the home, I do this on a bed, a couch or in a crib. Since we were at the beach, I brought along my Moses basket in which I could lay the baby for some solo portraits. I had a vision of the basket on the beach with the ocean and sunset behind it. I also brought along a blanket because I am a sucker for snuggly family photos. Ordinarily, I capture these on the bed int he home, but a blanket on the sand was just as good.
I am so thankful to have clients who trust my vision and allow me the privilege of capturing these special moemtns for them. Here are a few of my favorite images from the day.
