A Summer Morning in Home Family Session
As much as I love photographing families at sunset, this time of day simply is not ideal for some clients. For those with young children under three, it is often better to schedule sessions during the morning hours. You want to choose a time of day during which time your children will be most content because you in turn will be relaxed and it will shine through in your images.
Some families choose to have their family photos taken right in the comfort of their own home. This eliminates the stress of traveling with toddlers to a location and also allows your images to have a really personal and unique look. In home sessions tend to be more casual, relaxed and have more of a lifestyle look to them.
If you have a yard with some shade, we can do the whole session right in your yard. You can play with your children on the swings, run a bubble machine, watch them play, swim in your pool with them, and do whatever it is you normally do together. In the cold weather months, we can do the entire session in your home and capture really cozy and connected images that capture you as a family. If you want to dress up and have more formal photos taken, that can be done as well. The entire experience is customizable to meet your goals.
This family wanted a blend of interactive and posed images. We started the session in their beautiful yard in which the children played on the swings and then cozied up to mom and dad for some family portraits. We then moved indoors to capture some more relaxed images inside their beautiful home. They snuggled up together in the living room, played in the playroom, read some books together and I was able to capture those moments for them. Those small and fleeting moments are what you will want to remember when your little ones are older.
Here are some of my favorites from the day.
