Summer, We Miss You | Photo Sessions on the Beach
It feels as though I have gone somewhat into hibernation since the holidays. After the holiday rush, I took a few weeks off to recharge my batteries, which included taking a much needed break from social media and the Internet in general. I have been using that time to delve deep into a few professional development courses and I have also been shooting some fun maternity and extended family sessions over the last few weeks. I will be sharing those images once I get the OK from my clients.
Even with life slowing down a bit, it somehow is already February 8th and I feel as though I can see the end of Winter approaching. February snuck up on me, but I am eager and ready for the busy season to start again in the Spring. I have already begun booking for February through April sessions and my Communion schedule is nearly fully booked. I will be opening booking for June-August in a few weeks. Summer is my favorite season and I always look forward to the beach sessions with my beautiful clients and their families.
To get us all thinking about that warm and toasty weather, I figured I would blog a beach session from early September. This session took place on a warm night with the most gorgeous September light. September really is a great month for beach photos because the light tends to be soft and golden in hue, the weather is mild and the beaches are not as crowded. I know that for some people, myself included, September is hectic with the start of school, but it really is an ideal time to schedule your family photos.
This sweet family was a dream to work with. They were naturally engaged and connected with one another throughout the session. Their son, who turned one shortly before this session, was probably the happiest baby with whom I have ever worked. In fact, he laughed throughout the entire session, which is always fun to capture.
My client scheduled the session at a private beach near her Summer home and it was the perfect spot for their photos. Some clients don’t have a preference for a location, while others do. I always love photographing in new locations that are meaningful to my clients.
Here are a few of my favorites from this adorable family’s session.
