Hello Baby Boy | Amityville In Home Newborn Photography

I just love photographing families in their homes. It truly is the most authentic way to capture families. This is especially true when a new baby is welcomed into a home. I am a mom and have photographed many babies, so I know how difficult it can be to get out of the house to head to a studio for newborn photos. This is one of many reasons why I travel to your home to capture your sweet little baby’s first moments. I truly want the entire experience to be as stress free and seamless for you as possible.

I recently worked with this beautiful family of four to capture images of their second baby and it was a delight to work with them. We scheduled the session about three weeks after the baby was born, which is one of the benefits of a lifestyle newborn session. The bulk of these sessions is focused on you as a family interacting with each other, so the baby doesn’t need to be asleep for the entire session. This means that the session can be scheduled anytime at which your feel best within those first few weeks post pregnancy.

It is especially helpful to schedule newborn photos in your home when you have toddler aged siblings. Most children feel at ease during a session when it is in their own home and it allows us the opportunity to give them tons of breaks between photos. Newborn sessions do tend to run over two hours and there is a lot of down time. Being in your own home makes it more of a comfortable experience for everyone.

Although my goal is to document you as a family with the baby, I do bring along outfits, swaddles and a few props for the baby. If requested, I will capture images of the baby lightly and naturally posed in props. I do not use backdrops, studio lighting or tons of props for these photos, but rather create a more natural looking portrait.

I just love the images from this particular session. Here are a few of my favorites. If you are interested in a newborn session, contact me.
