Is it me or does Summer seem to be flying by? Due to COVID restrictions, social engagements for most of us have been limited and, yet, here we are…halfway through July. I, for one, have been embracing every second of this beautiful warm weather and much of that involves spending time down by the shore.

The beach is a great place to go right now. You can easily maintain social distance, take in the fresh air, and calm any residual COVID anxiety by relaxing by the sea. My favorite time to go to the beach is late afternoon into the evening hours. I love how serene the beach is at this time of day and I love to watch the colors of the sky, sun and ocean change as sunset approaches. These gorgeous soft colors are what make it the perfect location for photos.

My favorite type of session to photograph is the family session. I am always honored when families entrust me to document their loved ones for them. For many families with young children, this is the first time they are having photos taken together as a family. In fact, many of them have not had professional photos taken since their wedding. I also know that for families with young children, parents worry about whether or not their children will cooperate for the session. With this type of photo session, it is ok for kids to run round and be free, so being uncooperative is not really a problem. My session is really geared towards capturing you and your children having fun and interacting with one another.

I photographed this family last year at my tree farm mini session and I was so excited to have the opportunity to get to work with them again. We had the absolute perfect night for a sunset beach session. There was a slight warm breeze, no humidity, the ocean was warm and the sky was blue as can be. Miss F is an absolute beauty with the bluest eyes I have ever seen. She is the happiest little girl too…I don’t think I have ever photographed a toddler who smiles as much as she…especially when she finally had the opportunity to play in the warm ocean water.
