The Smallest NY Giants fan | Family Studio Newborn Session

I have been photographing more family newborn sessions in my studio lately.  I love that so many families are opting for the family session because I believe it is so important to get in the frame with your newborn. I know sometimes as moms we don't feel our best right after delivery and would rather not be in photos, but you will want photos that document those precious first moments with your baby because they are gone in the blink of an eye. Besides, new moms are always gorgeous and always seem to be glowing.  

My family newborn sessions are structured to emulate an in home lifestyle newborn session. Although they are a bit more life inspired, meaning that there is a little more posing in the studio session than that which would occur in a home session. My studio provides a bright, modern and classic aesthetic for your images that will give you a gallery of timeless images. 

I start the sessions with the whole family cuddled on a bright white bed. Then we move on the images of both mom, dad, and siblings with baby. I also make sure to include some polished portraits of baby using my classic white backdrop or for those who prefer a moodier and rustic look, against my handmade rustic wood backdrop. Of course, the sequencing of how I photograph the family really depends on the baby.  I try to get the portraits of baby done whenever she falls asleep.  The beauty of this type of session is that baby only needs to be asleep for the portrait portion of the session.  In fact, I prefer that baby is awake during the family segment of the session because it allows for more natural connection and interaction.  Most of the time, these sessions last about two hours.  

My studio is cozy and comfortable and is stocked with all of the necessities you might need for baby. I want my clients to feel comfortable and at ease during a session with me. In fact, the last phase of my construction of the studio will be done within the next two weeks and I will finally have a full bathroom in the studio, so my studio now will be completely private and separate from the rest of my house.  

I recently photographed this sweet family in my studio. I was so excited to use some of my new swaddles and outfits that I recently added to my stock. When Mom told me that her husband was a huge NY Giants fan, I was so excited to be able to use my handmade knit Giants outfit that has been sitting in my closet for weeks. I also added new swaddles to my collection from Milkmaid Goods because I am obsessed with them. The swaddles are not only gorgeous, but soft, stretchy and allow you to saddle baby tightly and safely.  By the way, I am not affiliated with this company at all, I just love their products.  We also used some of my new lace and knit rompers on baby C for her portraits, which provide so much texture and color to the images.
