A Family Session with the Grandparents | Extended Family Photo Session
Grandparents are an integral part of your children’s life. For most children, the bond between grandparent and grandchild is strong and like no other. The love a grandparent has for a grandchild is unparalleled and it is unbiased. It is so very important to capture that bond and preserve those memories for your children. An extended family session is the perfect way to do so because you get images that capture the connection between your parents and your children.
I recently photographed this sweet group on Veteran’s Day. It was an unseasonably warm day and I was thankful for it because the days preceding this session were bitterly cold. Mom chose a location close to her home and I was happy to oblige her because I absolutely love to photograph families in new and unique locations.
Mom chose Steppingstone Park in Great Neck as the location for the session. This park is situated right on the water and has scenic gardens, winding paths, and a gorgeous view of the sunset from the small beach. It was the perfect spot for this session.
At mom’s request, I brought along my campfire props and we started the session with a few holiday pictures. Her adorable two year old twins loved the marshmallows and spent much of the session nibbling on them happily. Even though these two cuties were giggling and having fun throughout most of the session, which I absolutely love, I was still able to get a fee snuggly shots of mom with her babies too. It is always my goal to capture those sweet connected moments during every session and I was thrilled I quickly caught them for mom.
Grandma and grandpa were so fun loving and I captured so many images of them loving on their grandbabies; those images are my favorite in the collection. There was a lot of laughter and a lot of hugging and kissing going on during these captures, which is exactly what I want to capture.
A photo session with grandparents is really a perfect gift for the holidays. It is one that they will cherish as well as the rest of the family. If you are interested in a session, contact me. Here are some fo my favorites from this session.
