Vintage Volkswagon Bus Holiday Sessions | Long Island Christmas Photographer
Beautiful and Timeless Holiday Neutral Photos
Photographing a vintage Volkswagon van has been a vision of mine for quite some time, so when I came across this gorgeous restored 1971 bus, I knew I had to create a mini session using it as the backdrop. The bus serves as the perfect backdrop for family photos.
I rented the bus from Long Beach Photo Bus and I can’t say enough positive things about the company and owners. They hare really designed the photo booth to be a true experience. It is not only available to photographers, but for party rentals as well. Head to their site for more info.
My vision for this session was to capture connected and unique images for every family, so I designed this set to have a very neutral look to it. Although used a Christmas tree, the set is not heavily propped with holiday colors and props. This is because I wanted the session to allow for photos that last year round. It has a very bohemian look and feel to it that is perfect for all genders. I did not overly prop the set because I really wanted the focus of the images to be on the bus and , of course, the families.
Choosing the wardrobe for a holiday mini session can be very daunting for moms, so I created a Pinterest board for clients to help them to choose their outfits. The color palette I stuck with consisted of soft colors such as tans, light grey, muted pink and ivories. Again, I didn’t want the colors of the wardrobe to overpower the beautiful VW turquoise color of the van.
I am so thrilled with the photos from this holiday mini session. Here are a few of my favorites:
