Baby's First Photo Session | Westbury Family Photographer
When this client contacted me, I knew I was going to love her and her family. She was hoping to book a family session with her four month old daughter, who was unable to have her newborn photos taken due to COVID. So, she wanted to book a Fall family session to finally capture images of her beautiful daughter. I personally love photographing babies at this stage. They have such adorable personalities and you can really capture sweet moments of connection between parent and child.
I love photographing families in the Fall. I love the rich colors. the foliage, and the weather. We scheduled this session at a favorite park location of mine about 90 minutes before sunset. This is always my favorite time of day tp photograph because it is when the sun is at its softest. It was a fully cloudy on the night of our session and a humid 70 degrees, but it worked to our advantage because the light was soft and flattering and we didn’t have to worry about the baby being too cold during the session. .
This family is beyond sweet. They were such naturals in front of the camera and mom chose the perfect color palette for the family. I just love mustard in a photo session. It really pops against the shrubbery. Baby A’s outfit, had the perfect nod to Fall and she looked so adorable in her faux fur vest. The best part of this session was whenever Baby A would smile, her cute little dimples would show.
As always, I started this session with the formal and posed portrait. Once this is done, we moved on to the more playful and emotive captures, which is really what this mom preferred to have captured. As you will see from this gallery, there was lots of cuddling, hugging and kissing going on, which really captures this stage of life with a four month old.
My Fall season is underway and I still have one or two spots open in November for a family session. These sessions are private and prop free and perfect for those who don’t want to participate in mini sessions this year due to current circumstances. If you are interested in a session, contact me. In the meantime, here are a few of my favorites.
