A 21st Birthday Session on the Beach
It has been many, many, many years since I celebrated my 21st birthday, but I can still remember the anticipation and excitement for the huge milestone birthday. It is a moment that is pivotal for young adults and is one that should definitely be commemorated.
I can hardly believe it, but my niece is about to turn 21. It feels like yesterday that I met her for the first time at my husband’s block party. She was the sweetest and most adorable child and it as been a pleasure to watch her grow into a kind and beautiful young lady.
Although she isn’t turning 21 until September, we hit the beach at sunset to take some birthday photos for her big day. It was an absolutely magical sunset that night and the light had the most gorgeous pink hue to it. I wanted to do something fun and whimsical for her session and because I prefer to only use minimal props, we opted to incorporate some simple balloons and, of course, champagne to celebrate the momentous occasion.
I just love every one of the images from this session. She looks beautiful and flawless in each and every shot, but my favorites are the ones of her in the ocean. They really capture the carefree essence of this special time in life.
