Local Summer Family Session | Atlantic Beach Family Photographer

When this recent client called me to discuss booking a family session on the beach, I knew that working with her would be a memorable experience. During our phone consult we chatted about parenting and life with girls. She had me cracking up throughout most of the conversation and I couldn’t wait to meet her and the rest of her family for their sunset session.

When the day of the session arrived, I was not disappointed. Her witty sense of humor had me in stitches for most of our time together. Even better, her husband and two children were just as sweet and funny as she. It was an energetic session filled with lots of funny jokes and warm captures.

She opted for a September date and that was fine with me because it is my favorite month to photograph on the beach. The weather is mild, the crowds have dispersed and the sunsets are absolutely gorgeous. Although the clouds rolled in shortly after the start of the session, the evening sky was still beautiful and it didn’t dampen the spirit of this lovely family.

Mom dressed her girls and herself in beautiful dresses from Joyfolie, which is a vendor that I often recommend to my clients. The dresses are well made, photograph beautifully, come in rich colors and the site often runs sales to accommodate all price points. I was thrilled to see that she chose a stunning green dress for herself, which added the perfect pop of color to her images. Often times, clients are tempted to match everyone in the family exactly, but that is not the best approach to choosing your wardrobe or color palette. This client referred to my wardrobe guide and did a great job of selecting outfits for her family. For those clients who struggle with the styling, I offer styling assistance either through Style & Select or I can hand pick outfits for everyone in the family.

Big sister was the true star of this session. She loves the camera and was eager to have photos taken with everyone in the family. I just love her personality so much. She takes after her mom with her outgoing personality and sense of humor.
