You’re Able To Become Comfortable In Front Of The Camera

The first thing couples say to me at the start of a session is, we are so awkward in front of the camera. Most people are used to the rigid posing styles of the past. If you're one of those people who goes stiff and awkward in front of the lens, relax. You will see within a few minutes of the session, that my style is relaxed and casual….might I even say, fun! You'll be amazed at how comfortable and natural you can feel! Having an engagement shoot gives you a chance to develop that comfort BEFORE your wedding day.

Capture the fleeting time that you're engaged

I have been married for nearly 13 years now and in that time, celebrated a wedding, welcomed two children into our family and have celebrated many milestone. There is nothing like the feeling of getting engaged. Those first few weeks are a feeling like no other. They truly are blissful. I always encourage people to schedule a session in those first few weeks before the planning of the wedding begins. Having engagement pictures taken can be a wonderful way to preserve memories of this brief period, so that you can look back on them for years to come.

Capture Your Bond

Odds are you have never had a professional photo session of the two of you together. This is the perfect opportunity to capture your unique bond and relationship. An engagement session is a perfect opportunity to get beautiful, flattering photos taken of the two of you together just being your unique selves. This is your chance to capture your connection to one another and to express yourselves. Moreover, a photo session provides you with an opportunity to find time just for the two of you when you're not distracted by screens, crowds or errands. During your engagement shoot, you'll be a team, working together and focusing on one another ... in fact, your photos will turn out SO much better if the two of you really focus on the connection and love between you while you're being photographed.

Your Images will Have a Multitude of Uses

Although the main reason to schedule a session is to preserve your memories, you will also get a lot of mileage out of engagement photos. You can use the photos from your session to send out engagement announcements, save the dates, thank you cards, holiday cards, a wedding website, or even use them to display at your wedding. You'll have photos to use for wedding purposes.
