Ethereal Portrait Session

I often take on personal projects. This allows me the creative opportunity to explore new locations, lighting and posing that helps me to be a better photographer. During my busy season, it is really difficult to find the time to do so, but when my daughter asked for a photoshoot, I couldn’t say no. She loves having her photos taken and I love capturing her in a way that is authentic to her personality.

It was a perfect warm September evening and we set out to one of my favorite locations. My daughter is a little fashionista, so I pulled a few items from her closet and she chose what outfits to wear for the session. One of the dresses she selected is a gorgeous mustard Joyfolie dress. Joyfolie is one of my favorite vendors for outfits for photo sessions. Their pieces are high quality and photograph beautifully. Plus, they are soft and feminine and typically provide great movement for images.

My daughter is a bit of an ethereal spirit, so I wanted these images to represent that bohemian side of her personality as well as the inquisitive nature of childhood. I just love the way these images came out and I will definitely be hanging them on my walls.

Although I always encourage parents to schedule a family session and participate, a children’s portrait session is also a great option to capture your child authentically.
