A Beach Family Session With Grandparents

When I get asked to do a family session that includes grandparents, I always know that the session will be special. I know how important the bond between grandparent and grandchild is and I love to photograph their special bond. A photo session that includes grandma and grandpa is a great gift for the holidays or any occasion and it is one that not only the grandparent will cherish, but you will too.

This recent session was so fun to capture. I have photographed this family before and their twins are the sweetest children. I don’t think I have ever photographed siblings who love each other quite as much as they do. They hugged the entire session and it was so sweet to capture. Although I have photographed this family many times before, this was the first time I photographed them with their grandparents.

It was a beautiful night the day of this session. We had some gorgeous sunlight and the sky was glowing with golden and pink light for most of the session. We started the session with the family portraits on the entrance to the beach and that is also where I captured images of grandma, grandpa and their little sweeties.

Afterwards, we moved down to the sand to capture some of that gorgeous setting sun for photos of mom and dad with their twins. It was super windy on the day of this session, so we paused often to make adjustments to wardrobe and hair, but a little wind actually looks spectacular in images.

We ended the session with some captures of the twins together to commemorate their sixth birthday. Mom brought along an adorable marquee light that we used as a simple prop to mark the occasion. After the session, which took place at a private beach in Lido, the family went to Marvel for some ice cream. I can’t think of a better way to end the night.
