Cozy and Connected Family Newborn Session in the Studio

I always love photographing newborns in my private studio space. The studio allows me to capture images of families with a lifestyle approach in a bright and modern setting. These studio lifestyle newborn sessions are geared towards capturing families interacting with their baby. So, even though most of the session is centered on capturing family photos, I do take the time to also capture beautiful portraits of your little one on one of my hand made backdrops. These family images are not only more visually interesting, but will capture the memories you will want to remember years from now when baby is grown up.

I recently photographed an absolutely gorgeous family in my reimagined studio. Mom looked stunning in a white and crochet detailed dress and dad was also dressed in a white button down blouse. I always tell families that you can’t go wrong with soft neutral colors for this type of session, and their wardrobe was a home run.

During my family newborn sessions, I try to emulate that which I would do during an in home lifestyle session. I capture the family together with baby on sets that look polished, yet natural. I want the images to feel like you are hanging out in a beautiful space in your own home. I want you to feel comfortable during the session and always do my best to make you all feel at home, especially when traveling to the studio with toddler aged children.

Based on my client’s responses to her questionnaire, I used grey, navy and floral wraps and outfits for this session to ensure it would coordinate with the color scheme in her newly designed nursery. Mom brought along a monogrammed blanket that we incorporate into the session. I am always happy to include personal items in the session and always encourage families to bring along anything they want to include.
